CHAINSMOKERS COMPLETE A YEAR IN THE TOP 10 ON THE US SINGLES CHART

This week US dance act the Chainsmokers celebrate spending an unbroken year on the Top 10 of the US Hot 100 split between four singles.  The only other act to achieve this is Katy Perry who spent 69 consecutive weeks on the Top 10 between May 2010 and September 2011.

Here is how the Chainsmokers 53 weeks are broken down:-

21st May 2016 - 13th August 2016 (13 weeks) Don't Let Me Down (featuring Daya)
20th August 2016 - 22nd October 2016 (10 weeks) Don't Let Me Down (featuring Daya) & Closer (featuring Halsey)
29th October 2016 - 28th January 2017 (14 weeks) Closer (featuring Halsey)
4th February 2017 (1 week) Closer (featuring Halsey) & Paris
11th February 2017 - 18th February 2017 (2 weeks) Closer (featuring Halsey)
25th February 2017 (1 week) Closer (featuring Halsey) & Paris
4th March 2017 (1 week) Closer (featuring Halsey)
11th March 2017 (1 week) Closer (featuring Halsey) & Paris
18th March 2017 (1 week) Closer (featuring Halsey) & Paris & Something Just Like This (& Coldplay)
25th March 2017 (1 week) Closer (featuring Halsey) & Paris

6th May 2017 - 20th May 2017 (3 weeks) Something Just Like This (& Coldplay)

Compare that with Katy Perry's 69 weeks:-

29th May 2010 - 7th August 2010 (11 weeks) California Gurls (featuring Snoop Dogg)
14th August 2010 - 18th September 2010 (6 weeks) California Gurls (featuring Snoop Dogg) & Teenage Dream
25th September 2010 - 13th November 2010 (8 weeks) Teenage Dream
20th November 2010 - 5th March 2011 (16 weeks) Firework
12th March 2011 - 19th March 2011 (2 weeks) Firework & ET (featuring Kanye West)
26th March 2011 - 25th June 2011 (14 weeks) ET (featuring Kanye West)
2nd July 2011 - 23rd July 2011 (4 weeks) ET (featuring Kanye West) & Last Friday Night (TGIF)
30th July 2011 - 17th September 2011 (8 weeks) Last Friday Night (TGIF)
