SAM SMITH REACHES 300 WEEKS ON THE UK SINGLES CHART

Congratulations to Sam Smith who becomes the latest artist to break the 300 week barrier on the UK Singles chart, almost five years to the day he made his chart debut.

It was week ending 20th October 2012 that "Latch" by Disclosure first hit the chart.  The track featured guest vocals by Sam Smith, the first time the general public had heard his voice.

He has now had 13 hit singles, of which 8 have reached the Top 10, with an impressive 6 going all the way to Number 1 - "La La La" (with Naughty Boy) in 2013; "Money On My Mind" and "Stay With Me" in 2014; "Lay Me Down" and "Writing's On The Wall" in 2015 & "Too Good At Goodbyes" just last month.

"Stay With Me" also peaked at Number 2 on the US chart, and "Writing's On The Wall" became the first Bond film theme to ever top the UK Singles chart.

Here is Mr Smith with his appearance on "Latch" (vocally, anyway), together with his complete chart career.
