With Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" re-entering the UK Singles chart at Number 70 this week, he creates a new record for the most weeks spent in the Top 75 with 125 weeks. Previous record holder - Frank Sinatra's "My Way" - had been Number 1 on this list since June 1970 when he spent his 57th week on the listing, beating previous record holder Engelbert Humperdinck's 56 weeks with "Release Me".
Over the years, "My Way" increased this total to 124 weeks, which I assumed would never be broken - how wrong I was!!
So congrats to Mr Ed for another chart record - will this total be broken? Lewis Capaldi, perhaps? (currently 104 and counting!)
Here's how the record has evolved over the years, with the video for the best version of the track at the end.
