Just last week, Ed Sheeran overtook Sir Elton John to become the second most successful UK male artists of all time. This week he overtakes Michael Jackson's total of 688 weeks on the UK Singles chart to move into sixth place on the all time list with 691 total weeks.
Fifth position is currently held by Madonna who is on 740 weeks.

It has taken him less than six years to achieve this total compared with Jackson (42 1/2 years).
Well done to Ed, here is his most successful song, which accounts for 91 of those 691 weeks.
