WEEK ENDING 10th JUNE 2017

"Despacito" claims the record for its own this week, as a fourth week at Number 1 gives it the longest run at Number 1 for a foreign language chart topper, overtaking the three weeks run of Manhattan Transfer's "Chanson d'Amour".

Well done to Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee & Justin - here is "Despacito" (the original version minus Bieber's vocal).

At Number 2 for a fourth week behind "Despacito", is DJ Khaled featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper & Lil' Wayne with "I'm The One", while completing a static Top 3 is last week's highest new entry, "Strip That Down" by Liam Payne & Quavo.

This week's highest new entry comes from politically active band Captain Ska, who have reworked their 2010 track "Liar Liar", to include speeches from Prime Minister Theresa May.

Straight in at Number 4, despite being unable to be played on BBC Radio during election campaigning, this is Captain Ska with "Liar Liar".

Down one place to 5 this week is Shawn Mendes with "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back", while static at 6 is "Unforgettable" by French Montana & Swae Lee.

Down 2 places to 7 is "Symphony" from Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson, while up 4 from last week's 12, giving British DJ/producer Jonas Blue his third UK Top 10 hit, this is "Mama" (featuring vocals by William Singe).

Still hanging in the Top 10 after 21 weeks, down 2 to 9 is "Shape Of You" by Ed Sheeran, while down one place to 10 is Charlie Puth with "Attention".

New in at Number 13, is the return to the Top 20 after 18 months away, of Rita Ora.

With her 12th UK Top 20 hit, this is Rita with "Your Song".

Also new at Number 27, the Little Mix hit machine keeps on going, this time aided by UK grime legend Stormzy - this is "Power".

We have to go all the way down to Number 41 for this week's highest climber.  Up 21 places, with the follow up to her Top 5 smash "Starving" from late last year, this is Hailee Steinfeld with "Most Girls".

Not much movement this week, so down we go to Number 60, where we find the legend that is former Oasis frontman, Liam Gallagher, with his first solo effort.

This is "Wall Of Glass".

Ausual, I finish with tracks from the US & UK Number 1 albums.  In the UK, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its release, "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles hits Number One again, its 28th week at Number One in total.  Only two non-soundtrack albums have spent more weeks at Number One - the Beatles themselves with "Please Please Me" (30 weeks) and the all time record holder, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel (33 weeks).

For a list of albums which have spent the longest at Number One, so my separate post.

So well done to John, Paul, George & Ringo - from the album this is the classic, "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".

In the US, Linkin Park claim their sixth chart topper with "One More Light".

From the album, this is the single "Heavy" featuring vocals by Kiiara.
