CALVIN HARRIS CLAIMS HIS 8TH UK NUMBER ONE SINGLE

Last week, "Feels" by Calvin Harris (featuring Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams & Big Sean) climbed to the top spot in the UK, giving the Scottish DJ his eighth UK Number One single.  Technically, he has the second most UK Number Ones by a British male artist.  I say, technically, because, if you include singers who were members of groups he is well down the list.  For instance, the Beatles had 17 Number Ones, while Paul McCartney has had four other chart toppers to total 21; John Lennon has had three solo Number Ones giving him 20 in total, while George Harrison has had one giving him 18.  Gary Barlow has had 12 as a member of Take That! and 3 as a solo artist giving him 15 in total and Robbie Williams has had 7 with Take That! and 7 solo.

However, if we just include artists who are credited on a track, he is only behind Cliff Richard who has 14 Number Ones.
