Well, it took a while, but after 8 weeks on the chart, despite not being the best selling OR most streamed song of the week, "Feels" by Calvin/Katy/Pharrell/Sean hits top spot.
It gives the Scottish DJ his eighth Number One, technically putting him second behind Cliff Richard as the British artist with the most Number One singles. I say "technically" because if we only count hits where the artist is credited by name then he is second. However, if we include artists who were also members of a group then he still has a way to go.
Paul McCartney leads the way with 21 (17 with the Beatles, 1 with Wings, 1 with Stevie Wonder, 1 solo & 1 with the Christians, Holly Johnson & Stock Aitken & Waterman); former band mate John Lennon has 20 (17 with the Beatles & 3 sol0); another Beatle George Harrison has 18 (17 with the Beatles & 1 solo); Gary Barlow has 15 (12 with Take That! 2 solo & 1 with the Commonwealth Band) and Robbie Williams has 14 (7 with Take That! & 7 solo).
It also gives him his first Number One in nearly 3 years, since "Blame" topped the listing back in 2014.
As for his contributors, Katy Perry claims her 5th UK chart topper, and her first in nearly 4 years, since 2103's "Roar", Pharrell claims his 4th, and, again his first in more than 3 years, since 2104's "Happy". As for Big Sean it marks his debut at the top.
Anyway, well done to the guys (and girl), and here is the video for "Feels".
Surprisingly still climbing this week, and hitting a new peak of Number 2, is French Montana & Swae Lee with "Unforgettable". Now on its 17th week on the chart, it could claim the record for the longest climb to Number One currently held by Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" which took 19 weeks to make the top.
Since first charting at Number 63 on 29th April, it has gone 24-12-8-8-6-6-5-3-5-4-3-3-3-3-4-2.
Could it make the top next week? It's possible, here is French & Swae with the Weeknd-like "Unforgettable".
Dropping one place to 3 this week is "Wild Thoughts" from DJ Khaled, Rihanna & Bryson Tiller, while dropping out of the Top 2 for the first time since early May, down 3 to 4, is 11 week chart topper "Despacito" (although it is still both the best selling AND most streamed single of the week, but they are now on the new ratio of 300:1 for streams rather than 150:1).
Up four places to 5 this week, and one of only two solo efforts in the Top 10, "New Rules" gives Dua Lipa her first UK Top 5 hit, while climbing two more places to 6 is Rudimental featuring James Arthur with "Sun Comes Up".
Dropping two to 7 this week is Jonas Blue with William Singe and "Mama", while dropping 1 to 8 is Sigala & Elle Eyre with "Came Here For Love".
Dropping 3 to 9 is Little Mix with "Power", while the second on three foreign language hits in the Top 20 climbs 2 to 10. The UK version of "Subeme La Radio" features the vocals of Sean Paul & X Factor winner Matt Terry.
Giving Enrique Iglesias his first Top 10 entry in 3 years, this is "Subeme La Radio".
It's a week of comebacks this week, as up 14 places to 17 this week is a track that appeared to have shot it's bolt, when it dropped from its debut position of 26 to 44 two weeks ago. "Rain" gives the Script their first UK Top 20 entry in three years (what is it about a three year gap this week?).
So here are Danny and the band with "Rain".
Up eight places to 29 this week, finally hitting the Top 30 after twelve weeks on the chart is "Congratulations" by Post Malone featuring Quavo. Quavo also creates something of a first this week, as he becomes the first artist to place more than 3 songs on the chart in single week since the new chart rules were brought in which restrict artists to no more than 3 songs on a single chart. As this rules only apply to the main artist on a track, he has been able to have 4 records on the chart - he is at 22, 28, 29 & 67 - all as a featured artist.
Here is "Congratulations".
Up 7 places this week, and moving into the Top 40 at Number 35, is Charlotte Emma Aitchinson AKA Charli XCX, who now joins the list of artists who have reached 100 weeks on the UK Singles chart.
This is "Boys".
Back up 11 places this week to 38, from the album "Rainbows", this is Kesha with "Praying".
In at 43, is the highest new entry of the week, although it is actually a re-entry, having previously spent a single week at Number 68 back in May.
This is J Hus with "Spirit".
This week's highest climber moves up from 65 to 47.
From James Hype featuring Kelli-Leigh this is "More Than Friends".
Another big climber this week, up 15 places to 51, this is Hardy Caprio featuring Once Acen with "Unsigned".
This week's actual highest new entry debuts at Number 53, and is the fifth UK hit single from ex-Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello.
Featuring rapper Young Thug, this is "Havana".
Up 10 places to 54 this week, yet another collaboration.
From Coldplay's "Kaleidoscope" EP, this is Coldplay & Big Sean with "Miracles (Something Special)".
New at 55 this week is a track from the soundtrack of the Disney animated film from 2016, "Moana".
Performed by American actress and singer Auli'i Cravalho, who provides the voice of the title character in the movie, this is "How Far I'll Go".
As usual, I finish with tracks from the US & UK Number 1 albums. In the UK, Ed Sheeran's "Divide" takes a fifth stab at top spot, giving it a 15 week total at Number One. Only one other album this century has spent longer at the top - Adele's "21" has totalled 23 weeks at the top.
From the album, this is "Galway Girl".
In the US, Canadian band Arcade Fire repeat their UK success as "Everything Now", hits the top spot, giving the band their third chart topper across the water.
From the album this is "Creature Comfort".
