SHAPE OF YOU SETS NEW RECORD FOR MOST WEEKS SPENT IN THE US HOT 100 TOP 10

In the US Hot 100 Singles chart this week (dated 9th September 2017), Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You" remains static at the Number 9 position.  By doing so it creates a new record of 33 weeks inside the Top 10, putting it one clear of the Chainsmokers & Halsey's "Closer", and LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live".

"Shape Of You" debuted at Number 1 on the chart dated 28th January, before being replaced for the next two weeks by "Bad And Boujee" by Migos featuring Lil' Uzi Vert.  It then reclaimed the top spot for a further 11 weeks.

Here are the 5 tracks to have spent at least 30 weeks in the Top 10 in chronological order.

32 weeks (all consecutive) - How Do I Live by LeAnn Rimes - entered the Top 10 on 9th August 1997 at Number 9 on its 8th week on the chart - last week in the Top 10 at Number 10 on 14th March on its 39th week on the chart.
