WEEK ENDING 14TH OCTOBER 2017

A new Number One this week as US rappers Austin Richard Post (AKA Post Malone) and Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph (AKA 21 Savage) climb one place to claim both artists debut UK Number One with "Rockstar".  It breaks the "curse" of tracks with that title just falling short of Number 1 - in October 2007, Nickelback hit Number 2 and in March 2012 Dappy & Brian May also hit Number 2 with tracks of the same title.

This is "Rockstar".

Down one place to 2 is Sam Smith with "Too Good At Goodbyes", while up another place to 3 is Camila Cabello & Young Thug with "Havana".

Down one to 4 is former Number 1 "New Rules" by Dua Lipa, while up 3 to 5 is Avicii & Rita Ora with "Lonely Together".  It is Avicii's first Top 5 hit since "Hey Brother" at the end of 2013 and Ms Ora's first Top 5 since Poison in teh summer of 2015.

Down one place to 6 is CNCO & Little Mix with "Reggaeton Lento", giving the girl group a total of 300 weeks on the UK Singles chart, while static at 7 is "Till Dusk To Dawn" by Zayn & Sia.

Down 2 places to 8 is Pink with "What About Us", while into the Top 10, moving up 3 places to 9 is Logic, Alessia Cara & Khalid with "1-800-273-8255".

Also up three into the Top 10, at Number 10 this week is "Bestie" from Yungen featuring Yxng Bane.

The highest new entry this week comes from two people who have appeared on the reality TV show "Love Island".

From Chris & Kem, this is "Little Bit Leave It".

With the highest climber of the week, up 15 places to 19, and back inside the Top 20 is Ed Sheeran with a track that previously peaked at Number 4 back in March, the week that he held 9 of the Top 10 places on the chart.

Here is Ed with "Perfect".

Up 6 places to 20 this week behind is Marshmello featuring Khalid.

This is "Silence".

Just one place lower, moving up 8 places from last week's 29 is Mable (McVey) who is the daughter of singer Neneh Cherry and record producer Cameron McVey.

Featuring Kojo Funds, this is Finders Keepers".

With her first UK Top 30 hit, up 13 places to 24 this week, is the track that is currently Number 1 in the US.

This is Cardi B with "Bodak Yellow".

Up 14 places to Number 38, is the second entry in this week's Top 40 for 19 year old Khalid (Legend Robinson).

This is "Young, Dumb & Broke".

Up 14 places to 56 this week is US DJ Mark Kinchen, who releases records under his initials MK.

This is "17".

Ausual, I finish with tracks from the US & UK Number 1 albums.  In the UK, congratulations goes to Shania Twain, who claims her second UK chart topper more than 17 years after her first, "Come On Over", which spent 11 weeks at the top in four separate runs at the end of 1999 & early 2000.

From the album, "Now", here is the lead single, "Life's About To Get Good".

In the US, the Killers repeat their UK success of last week as their latest album "Wonderful Wonderful" becomes their debut US chart topper.

From the album, here is the current single, "The Man"".
