Surprise, surprise, Ed Sheeran spent the most weeks on the Top 75 UK Singles chart this year, with a record breaking total of 279 weeks. He takes the chart title for the third time in the last 4 years - he also won in 2014 & 2015.
His total of 279 weeks beats the previous best - Rihanna with 224 weeks in 2011 - by more than 50 weeks. It means that he averaged at least 5 tracks on the chart every single week in 2017, and held an impressive 7.15% of all chart positions during the year.
