DESPACITO EQUALS THE LONGEST RUN AT NUMBER ONE ON THE US HOT 100

Well, they did it! Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee (with a little help from Justin Bieber), top the US Hot 100 for a 16th straight week this week with "Despacito", tying the all time record held by Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men with "One Sweet Day", which also spent 16 weeks at the top from 2nd December 1995 to 16th March 1996, eventually being replaced by Celine Dion with "Because You Loved Me".  However, it looks as if they will not claim the outright record by making it 17 weeks next week, as the new Taylor Swift single is currently breaking all streaming records and is likely to climb to the top when the new charts are announce early next week.

But well done to the trio for an impressive 16 week run.

Here is "Despacito".
